I have officially completely given up Christian rock music.

Do you think that 'agressive' music is a youth thing?

My whole younger days, mid teens I was involved in heavy music. Up until these last past weeks. I don't mind Christian heavy music ie, death/black/heavy metal/industrial/, even goth. It's just that I have completley lost intrest in it as a whole and fallen head over heels in love with synthpop, techno and dance. My musical tastes, my fashion tastes, my out look on my life has been changing radically from since this last past week. I feel great. My agressive music days are over and I'm cleaning up my cd collection because theres alot of stuff in there that I don't listen to anymore. Alot of it is going to the pawnshop. That'd be cool if some unsaved person picks one of the cds, likes it and thinks about the lyrics. hey God works in mysterious ways.

Yes, for most. I'm a "youth" and was incredibly enthralled in my newsboys not one year ago. I have some project 86 and these 5 down in my collection, but that's the hardest I have, and I never listen to it. I'm a huge fan of synth pop and indie and whatnot (as you know), and I'm also a fan of ambient, the super-soft stuff (ray lynch, brian eno).

So...uh...I'm weird when it comes to musical tastes and the age and all that fun.

I think agressive music is a "mindset" thing. I still struggle with a lot of Christian rock, because (I know...I know) it all sounds the same to me. There are 4 bands out there, Michael W Smith, Relient K, Third Day and Kutless. If you're not listening to one of these, then whomever you are listening to sounds JUST LIKE one of these.

Still, I listen, but my secular music (gothic/progressive/indistrial heavy metal) keeps calling to me. I truly wish I could get over this, but the Christian music scene just isnt' there for me, yet.

(Okay, there's ONE band, but I'm not sure they even really exist: http://www.cheuchillachunque.com . Their headline SOUNDS like music I would like...)

And I'm 37, BTW.
