My wife is complaining that we have to much "stuff" and that makes it harder to keep our house clean. Of course the problem is, we keep going to garage sales and thrift stores and buying it for ten cents on the dollar.

The problem is, we try to give it away, but the more we give, it seems the more we get in return. Even we will pay shipping to send it over to the Philippines, because they seem to need "stuff" there. But that does not seem to make all that much difference either.

I remember a Catholic friend of mine who is retired from Ford. He bought a backage of seeds for some aster flowers one year for about a dollar. When they stated to flower, he would take them out to the old peoples homes and give them away. It seemed the more he gave, the more he had.

Now, ever year, when the flowers start to come up, he gives away about 100 plants. When they start to flower, he gives away about 1000 flowers, all from that origional package of seeds. Still, every year he has more and more of them, and has to prepare new flower beds to move them to, because they would crowd each other out.

I had the same thing in my back yard. I had a flower come up one year, and someone wanted half of it, so I gave it to them. The next year about 5 of them came up and we gave away some of the flowers to people. The year after that, about 50 of them came up. It was a patch about 5 feet by 5 feet. I noticed with flowers, the more you cut them, the more you thin them out, the better they grow and the more flowers you end up with. You just can not find enough people to give them all away to. Thanks, JohnR7
