Getting to know each other

Fellow Eagles!! Just thought I'd post a little info so you'd know a bit about me. If you wish, please feel free to post a little about yourself. I feel I know some of you already, but maybe you wonder about me. I joined CF one year ago to find a place to enjoy devotions with fellow Christians.
I am 57 yrs old and am now a housewife (I retired a few years ago)
My husband still works, so I'm usually only on the board in the daytime. We have two girls (both grown) and two boys (also grown). One son and both daughters live nearby and one son is in the military. I worked for many years at a Christian University in the legal and administrative department. It was a very wonderful experience. I've lived in the southeastern part of the US all of my life. My father was a minister as was my grandfather and great-grandfather. My mother is an accomplished pianist and we always had wonderful music in my home. I enjoy writing short stories from time to time and one of them was published in Catholic Digest. My husband and I love cars and we both own sportscars which we enjoy a great deal and my husband often attends sportscar rallies with me. I love to cook and attended cooking school at the wonderful Santa Fe School of Cooking and if I'm not on the computer, you'll find me in the kitchen. I love dogs and we own a bull dog (Max) and a little wee maltese (BB). I love to garden and have flowers and a little herb garden every year. I also love to feed the birds and enjoy our hummingbirds, finches, robins, doves, bluebirds and cardinals. My favorite other activity is my Bible Study at a local Church. God has blessed my life and I see Him everywhere I go. I have nothing of my own . . . all that I have belongs to the Lord. That's a capsule of my life. I'd love to hear about you!! Hi Valentine!

It sounds like God has wonderfully blessed you. My grandfather was a minister, too. My earliest memory is sitting beside him in church. A lot of us in Golden Eagles seem to like driving and cars. I still have my '77 Mustang sitting in the garage, waiting to be restored someday. I also like gardening and birdwatching. This year I'm going to plant a large garden of sunflowers, and I've ordered a trumpet vine plant to attract hummingbirds and a choke cherry bush for the birds. (I don't spend much time in the kitchen, though!)

Hey, Valentine and Golden Eagles...I joined CF...soon to be a year. First time I posted on Golden Eagles was the topic last April: "Memories which qualify me to be a Golden Eagle"...thanks to the frequent replies of the faithful ones here then...that thread went on for month's. Such fun!

Most of what you might want to know is in my profile already. I am a former teacher/counselor/administrator now retired but not too retiring.

Recently we planted some lovely desert plants in our little yard here in Arizona. They don't require watering once they are established. So I have two more months to water them before we go back home to the Pacific NW.

We have been married almost 45 years. The glue which has kept us together is God's grace for sure.

I love posting on CF and have to admit that my favorite thing on GE is just the chat and getting to know so many of you who have become nice posting pals. I also post on several other categories and threads especially on the biblical verses, bibliology, outdoors, pets, prayer requests, and relaxation threads. I try to post what I call a "serious" and sometimes controversial reply on a thread somewhere on CF at least once a day...and if you go to "What did you have for dinner?" you can always see what I like to eat.

Thanks for posting this Valentine..Looks like you and I have much in common.

No ministers (except unordained ones like me..I hold an M.A. (research in Old Testament) in our family, but my husband's sister is a nun...and that is definitely a ministry.

Hi I live in Minnesota. I have three grown and married children. One son and two daughters. I have 6 grand children; 5 grand daughters and 1 grandson.

We would have been married 45 years Dec. 17th,2005 but my husband died Oct. 31st,2005 of a rare form of leukemia that only 10 people in the USA get a year so not much research is done on it. I got a puppy a cocker two weeks after he died so I would have something that made me get up in the morning. My puppy was 5 and 1/2 months old when I got him.
I didn't start with CF until about 2 months ago. I am leaving around the 1st of March to be with my Mom after her 2nd total hip replacement. She is 85 and is very capable but will need someone for a length of time and it will be good for me too.
I live on a lake and it is quiet during the winter. I have allot of flower gardens during the spring, summer and fall. I love to fish and swim. I am 63 soon to be 64.

WOW!!! It is soooo nice to read just a little about you all. I've grown to care very much for my friends here on the board. I joined CF a year ago and find it a comforting companion and enjoy reading a great deal in the "deeper fellowship" and bible reading threads, though I don't post a lot there. I love the little CF pets and think they're simply precious and provide a way for me to have a monkey that doesn't require much care (or cleaning up after ). I must admit I always feel a little extra boost of joy when I'm on the Friends' threads or other places on the Board and see a post from one of you!! Birdy, we do share a lot of common interests and I'm reminded of how the Family of God is one big loving family. I truly look forward to fellowshipping with you all, lifting one another up in prayer, and being united as friends. It is a blessings to be a part of this group.

Hello... I'm from Indiana, for now... we're hopein' to move south to Georgia by summer, if my hubby's job transfer goes thru.

I'm married with 2 kid's at home.... well, their nearly grown but.... still kid's to me...lol. I got one of each... boy/girl. Son is 20 and deaf. Daughter is 17 yr's, going on 30...lol. Daughter was our Christmas gift from God in 1988. (2 days over tho, then they had to 'jump-start' her...lol. *induced labor.) But she's ok... a typical teen, sassy at times, good in school tho.

I don't work right now, waitin' to see what happens with the transfer thing, then look for work down south. Hubby and I are both sorta night-owls. He works the afternoon shift... 2nd's.

I do have a question tho... how do ya get the number to show up when ya post? Also, I've set my stuff that ya see there, but my 'join' flag don't show up either. I just joined day before yesterday, and am still learnin' my way around, but.... I'm lovin' it already!! I could spend all night here...lol. God Bless, hope to talk more with you. Hi Maddi, Welcome to CF. Not sure which number you mean. If age...just list your age in your profile(go to edit profile) and enable it where it asks if you want it to show up or not if you only want staff to see it. For most questions about technical things go to CF support, post your question in one of the sections there, and someone will give you a detailed answer. CF support is on the home page a short ways down in the left hand column.

This category, Golden Eagles, is for 50+...but if you aren't there yet there is a section for every age including one for people in their 40's. Hope you are 50 +and can join us here.

Hello all - My name is Larry. I' just turned a very young 59. Really I probably shouldn't be posting on this forum cause I don't feel anywhere near my age (but please don't report me ). Just found this forum the other day and am trying to get used to getting around on it. Already lost some blessings when I tried to play a game and save it, but not a biggie I don't even know what blessings are...on here, I mean, of course.

I"m extremely blessed to be married to my best friend ever. Her name is Janet. No kids at home. We have a German Shepherd named Adam and for a hobby I raise racing homing pigeons.

I'm retired. At least for now??? Formerly had several positions in a Union and also worked as a case worker for a while. Now I'm just a case

Good Mornin' everybody !! It's a bit chilli here in Indiana. When I got in CF this mornin', I was blessed with a nice warm coat!. Actually, it is about 20 something degrees here tho. Well, I'm off to jump around some more in here today.... almost at 100 post's, on my way to a first job in CF !!.... WOOHOO !!!!! Larry, in here, some things work by the blessings ya collected and share, other stuff work by how many postings ya post.
