greetings
i have a few questions. if anyone can give any suggestions i would be grateful! i want to live my life as a christian but i'm having trouble. lots of it.

i've spent a lot of time learning and practicing different faiths, traditions, spiritualities, and notions even i can't believe i took seriously. from angel worship to zen buddhism. i'm so spiritually enlightened!

it's extremely difficult for me to grow my faith in Jesus because i'm constantly crowded by all these other things i've learned which are so contrary to christianity. i love how my christian friends don't struggle at all, they just know. i want that so bad. how can i get that strength of faith?

how can i crowd all this other stuff out so that my life can be Christ-centered?

many thanks- jen

Well you can begin by asking the Lord to come into your life. Then ask Him to help lead you to your desired relationship with Him. If you are finding that because of these other practices, your mind is putting up a road block to have faith in Jesus, then you need to start taking steps to put these things away. You need to reprogram your brain. Reading the bible, and studying scripture will give you a new perspective. Hanging out with your Christian friends, going to church, and participating in church activities will help also. You have to lay a foundation before you can build a house. Start small and then build up your relationship with God by filling every aspect of your life with Christ.

Do you attend Bible study at church? Do you read your Bible regularly? Being fed on God's Word (found in scriptures) will help you clear through all that other muck and your faith will be strengthened.

Your faith icon says that you're an Orthodox Christian. There's a simple solution to your question. This is the standard Orthodox Christian answer to Orthodox Christians with questions. Talk to your priest/spiritual father. Also, it never hurts to get involved in parish life (matins, vespers, Divine Liturgy, bible study, orthodox studies/catechism classes, church school, your prayer rule).

Jesus said 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life', and he also said that 'No one comes to the Father, except through me'.

You see, he is the Life, and no one else in history said that. Also, it is clear by what he has said, that the only way to God is through him, which means, that all other faiths, religions, philosophies, will not help us to get closer to God, or be accepted by God. According to Jesus, only by him we can have access to God the Father.
