I think that once I get the letter written I will send out a query on a children's picture book I have written. So hopefully I will be sending it out this week.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well got my first rejection today. The reply stated that they just could not take on another writer at this point.

Have you seen The Writer's Edge service? If you send a preview of your manuscript to them, they will screen it and send it out to most of the Christian publishers for you.

The site doesn't appear very professional, but if you go to the publishers' sites, you will see that they recommend using it! You can save loads of time and postage that way.

Get Writer's Market and there is even a christian version of the Market
but what you really want to do is get an agent. They will know who to send it too.
The agent doesn't get paid until they sold your book to a publishing house. The usual fee is 10%-15%.

The Christian Writer's Market Guide is written by Sally E. Stuart, and you can find it in most bookstores for around $25. That's where I first heard of the Writer's Edge Service.
