I love my job, which is also ministry. I love my church, and my role in it. I love my volunteer time. I love the city in which I live. In short, I love everything about my life. God is so good and faithful, and I know that he has plans to prosper and not to harm me. As a result I am completely content, single or not. :)

I think these guys have the right aditude. I think that's how your suposed to get by..... by not getting by, but by thriving. Much of it is aditude. Live a life of servitude to Christ. We all know He can provide everything we need in our lives, wether that includes a spouce or not. So why live like we need one?

How do you get by without someone?
Well, most days, there aren't a lot of alternatives - it's either get by or spiral down into depression. And the command to "Rejoice in the Lord always [and if you didn't get it the first time], again, I say rejoice" doesn't have any conditional exceptions!

Usually, I get up each day, do devotions, go to work, come home, eat, read, and go to bed. Most of my social life is at work and at church. The high-points are the weekends when I get to see my family, and friends from church.

And from time to time there are those awesome times when you actually get to have a friendly heart to heart with someone new, usually about nothing at all, or about the deepest things on your heart. Those are the greatest of blessings.

This topic came up in the "Singlehood by mrstace" thread, and I am not sure if I have a good solid answer. How do you get by without someome? What things in life bring you joy?

Somehow I manage. Im not overly fond of my job, I never realized how many stupid people lived until I began working where I currently work. Ive come to believe God does not install common sense when we are born, but rather it is something you have to want. I really dont want to leave my job, the only other jobs around here are fast food, and my current job pays twice as well, so ill have to tough it out.

I manage to get by just by doing some of the things I like, which kills time. I am constantly on the look for any potential Mrs Rights. I have learned however not to use personals like Yahoo. Heck, girls dont have the decency to write back anyway, even if its simply to say sorry not intrested.

There are days Im alright with everything, then other days where my singleness eats at everyfiber of my being and I believe there is something missing out of my life, leading me to question why.

Well, besides knowing that I'm God's child, regardless of how cracked I may be:D , helping people and getting involved in causes that are close to my heart. I can't really call it "getting by" since I'm constantly involved in something, but I guess, I spend a lot of time exploring what options God has laid out for me to fulfill.

Always remember that God uses cracked pots. When you put a light in a cracked pot the light shines through the cracks.. no cracks... no light.

many things in life bring me joy! I'm blessed with a good co-op job, I can afford to go to school (and I enjoy my classes), I live in a great city, I'm loved by my family, I have super friends, and I'm able to laugh heartily at least once a day! quite frankly, I couldn't ask for much more.

I try to keep myself busy with my tae-kwon-do I do 2 times a week and workout a pretty good bit with my weights.

Other than that I read a lot of magazines and books. I go to school full time and try to focus on my college homework.

I work full time, but my job is a place where your very underpaid and overrworked. But its the only place'll work around my college schedule.

They say you will find a lady when your not actually looking for one, so Im trying to keep myself distracted and busy. :p

I was once told: There is a BIG difference to, being alone and being lonely. I'm currently alone (without a girlfriend/wife) but I am far from lonely.

Basically, if I catch myself feeling lonely or "feeling sorry for myself" I fill that void with prayer, movies, sports, exercise, friends, etc.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I have never been one to worry about any of that. I wihs I had a solution or way to help others, but I don't. I guess strength through prayer.

Getting by... now that's interesting. Today it feels like either get by or die a slow painful lonely death as life slips in and slips on by. Not a good day to answer this post. I have been so struggling with this very issue lately. It's hard being a lone, making every decision alone. If the car breaks down, who what when and where to get it fixed and oh, do I have the funds for that? I hate always answering everything myself. And I hate rattling around the house at times. I know God loves me and He is always with me, but He just can not wrap His arms around me and hold me when I need it.

Don't give up - there are others out there who know .exactly. how you feel, and at the very least you're not totally alone and the only one in the whole wide vast universe. It's not day by day by day that goes down to dusky death - it's another day in a world that God has crafted in every detail. Not the song, but don't stop believing! Walk. Step by step, hour by hour, night by night, day by day.
