  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

“Gethsemane” experience
Jesus suffered deeply. I would say that one of the experiences ‘all’ humans have to go through if they survive birth and the first few years, will have to go through more than one “Gethsemane” experience. Where there is great suffering, and the sky is silent so to speak, and when heaven seems empty and we are alone. I believe that the anguish that Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane was that reality. Often prayers seem not to be answered and there is suffering that will not let up and is like being in hell. Yet Jesus said “yes” to the Father’s will, as impalpable as that was. However, it led after much suffering to his Resurrection.-Br.MD

My husband is going thru a time of great suffering right now, with stage 4 cancer.
Nothing more can be done; he is on hospice now.

It is looking beyond this life to the next ... a life with Jesus and no more suffering ... that keeps us hopeful, and gives us the strength to go on.

Of course, something can be done. When the doctors have done all they can do, then it is time for prayer. Cancer is often the body attacking itself because people are in conflict with themselves. You can get good results praying for Cancer. Although often results for serious conditions are gradual over time. So you have to keep on praying.

So often when I am praying and it seems like I am getting no results. Then I realize that God does not ever disappoint us or let us down. Romans 5:5 "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

"we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4and perseverance, [c]character; and character, hope."

I believe you mean to be helpful, so thank you, but I reject the belief that God wants for us all to be physically healed while here on this earth.

This is the Catholic forum, where many of us have been blessed to have been given eyes of faith with which to see things much differently.
So differently, that we can actually see blessing come by way of suffering, and yes, even death.

Yes, my husband will be physically healed. On the day he passes from this life into eternity with God.
(And what a grand and jubilant day that will be for him!)

God bless.

Yes, my son died at 40 and that was a time of celebration for me because I knew that in Heaven he would be far better off than the life he had here.
