Very sad news. Popular music has lost one of the best. Gerry and Carole King were one the great Brill Building song-writing teams of the early 60s. Few lyricists have ever captured the insecurity everyone feels when being in love as perfectly, or as concisely:
Is this a lasting treasure,
Or just a moment's pleasure.
Can I believe the magic of your sigh,
Will you still love me tomorrow?
I've read Carole King thought this was the best version of this song. Robin's lead vocal in the third verse and the fade-out is really good.
