  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Aka the "Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture" which is about the club of the same name originally founded to bridge anime, manga, and games.

The people are actually portrayed realistically. I especially like Saki, because she's the one who doesn't fit in, and is only there because her boyfriend's in it (which is especially funny because I was trying to get a friend to watch this last night, and she said she'd only watch anime if the guy she liked watches it :p). The setting is also in college, which I can relate better being a recent graduate and still living around campus.

I really like how they also faithfully reproduce the real games shown in the anime (yay, Guilty Gear! :D)

And for those who've been in the scene long enough, you can catch a lot of the references as well. For the rest of you, learn what real otakus in Japan are like.

For the traditional gamers, it's to otaku as Knights of the Dinner Table is to gamers.

I've not seen Otaku no Video, but considering it's from the 80s, this might be more easily relatable for current people interested in the culture, as it has evolved somewhat. e.g., I'm pretty sure moe did not exist back then. It actually also references Otaku no Video.
