Greetings all,

This is a 'for your information' post.

If anyone is interested I've uploaded to my website two papers I wrote on how to interpret the days of Genesis chapter one. My conclusion was that the Framework Interpretation was superior to both the Young-Earth and Day-Age views.

Genesis One and Beyond: An Investigation of the Temporal Questions of Creation in the Biblical Texts

and

One, Two, Three, and an Ordinal for Thee - Grammatical Irregularities, Definitions, and Genesis One

The papers are available in both HTML and PDF formats.

Please share this info with anyone you think might be interested. I'd post web links, but this forum isn't letting me. Just do a search for those or google 'framework interpretation genesis'.

Regards,
Brian

As a curtosy to our newbie poster I thought I would provide the link he was prevented from posting. I found the link to his webpage in his public profile.

http://home.comcast.net/~babucher/framework_interpretation.html

I read the summation and while it is an interesting approach the semantics are kind of tricky. The metaphorical interpretation approach is not that different from simular things I have read by good solid evangelicals. From what I have read of it I think it has some really good insights into the literary style and I'll get back to this thread when I have had a chance to read the two essays.

Welcome to the boards and good luck with the website.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Hey Mark, thanks for posting the link. When you get a chance I'd be interested in knowing which authors you've read that have positions like the FI. The primary source for the FI would be Meredith Kline. More info can be found through the Upper Register website.

I'll also be interested in your comments on the paper whenever you get around to it. :)

Regards,
Brian

I recently was given this link:
http://www.the-highway.com/Covsab_Intro.html

as a reference source to why FI is wrong.
via vector: http://www.the-highway.com/forum/sh...8&page=0&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=5&vc=1#Post49398

i'd be curious if anyone interested in FI follows up on this Covenantal Sabbath book.....
tia.

btw, Brian is both here and at the-highway, i don't know where he intends to primarily defend his paper, perhaps even somewhere else.
to Brian---if you find another forum where you are talking about this paper, i'd like the url so i can read it....

There is a good book called The Genesis Debate which compares three of the major views of Genesis (although it is not all of them), the six-day view, the day-age view, and framework view. You can check it out on Amazon. It is well-represented, with Hugh Ross doing the day-age view and Kline doing the framework view. I think among the three, the framework is by far the best supported.
