Just the other day, after reading this chapter again, God really spoke to me. We know the story of how Eve and Adam ate from the tree of good and evil; the tree that God had told them not to eat from. And because of their disobedience andthe fall of man came; they were removed from the Garden of Eden.
Sometimes we overlook the message behind the passage because we are looking at the Bible as just a story or literally.
The Garden of Eden signifies the presence of God. The snake, of course, means temptation. The tree represents our flesh. The fruit is the fruit of our flesh, which tastes good but only removes us from His presence.
I am currently going through something that is similar. I saw something that looked good to the eye. It made me feel beautiful, loved, and desired. I gave into temptation and ate the fruit of my flesh. And once was not enough. I wanted more, which drew me from the presence of God. And I am the only one to blame.
But like it said, God placed guardians to guide the way back to the tree of life.
