  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof."

Can the first word "And" be translated "Also" ?

(The English would seem to support that because previous verse talks about a suitable mate for Adam and obviously God knows none of the animals will do so why would he make new ones instead of using the ones he had already formed?)

Can you reccomend a website or book I can go to in future to get an answer to these questions?

Hello NJA,
I not sure if it makes much difference which you use but here is a site that is very useful.
http://bible.crosswalk.com/

If you go to Lexiconsn under Bible study tools you can find translation and definitions for Greek and Hebrew.
You can also type in key words or the verse you are looking for and see how different Bibles tranlate it.

I also like to use this site: http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/63255/jewish/The-Bible-with-Rashi.htm

It is a Jewish site that was recommended by a Rabbi.
