The assassination attempt is deadly serious and immoral and to be condemned!
But there is another issue here. I served in the Australian Military. In our Bootcamp we were drilled that when shots are fired, you follow the protocol or colleagues die. We would jog through the bush and randomly our Sarge would yell "BANG!" and we would instantly yell "Run! Down! Crawl! Observe! Aim! Fire!" A short dash to cover, dive down, crawl around, and check for incoming fire. So much for grunts in the bush.
I wrote about all this last year when it happened. It still makes me mad when I think about it. When shots are fired, those poor agents have a job to do. Get the President down, and then get him out of there! You assume the worst - that it could be coordinated - there could be multiple shooters. You put YOUR BODY on the President as a human shield.
Did Trump do the right thing - valuing his agents lives and complying with their instructions? NO! He paused for a photo-op. And MAGA cheer him on as a hero!
I just see narcissistic opportunity and disregard for his agents lives! Anyone defending his narcissistic photo op is disregarding the men and women that put their lives on the line to defend their President.
If he doesn't want to obey the recognised drill - why should they bother putting their lives on the line for him? He was being a buffoon! The more fun we poke at
that disgusting image, the better!
