I believe, that many; if not most, of our problems
are, or, can be
aggravated, by the way we arrange our thoughts
~that our inability 'to-cope' is due to, our having difficulty,
to marshal our thoughts (due to stress)
Where, we are UNABLE to see the 'wood' ....for the trees that are there (in our way)

When, we re-organize our thought-handling 'properly'
we can again see, logical sequence, and true facts
which gives us, a clearer view, of the matters we are facing
and maybe also many clues, as to what we CAN do/ in terms-of 'solutions' ¬v

Worst Day Ever?

Today was the absolute worst day ever
And don't try to convince me that
There's something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don't last.
And it's not true that
It's all in the mind and heart
Because
True happiness can be attained
Only if one's surroundings are good
It's not true that good exists
I'm sure you can agree that
The reality
Creates
My attitude
It's all beyond my control
And you'll never in a million years hear me say
Today was a very good day

Now read it from bottom to top, the other way,
And see what I really feel about my day.

Seeking out the positive in everything is a Chassidic belief by which Chanie and her family live. Seeking out the positive in everything

I had arrived at that conclusion, shortly after joining GE
[How, do others manage /cope /survive]

After 'treading' so much water [now, long-gone, under the bridge]
and swimming hopelessly against the current
only, to become physically and emotionally drained (exhausted)
I learned; that by accepting that I could not change 'some circumstances' (for, the better)
that I could 'go, with the flow' and go through 'the door' that led to my future
that, by getting 'out of the water' ~I could, find rest (and recuperate)

Strength, is [I find] relative-to ~the degree of refreshment that one is, blessed to receive

Hi joycekil,

I feel for you. It is horrible to be sad and depressed.

I know that your reason for sadness may be different to mine, but I have been through years of depression. However God got me through it, and I'm sure He can with you. One thing which might help is to remember that you won't feel like that for ever. Can you ask God for a specific promise or verse from the Bible and hold on to it? I found some of the Psalms especially 23, 91, 103, 139 and 145 particularly helpful. Also that Jesus was sent to "bind up the broken-hearted". (Isaiah 61 v 7)

Praying that the Lord provides what you need and replaces the sadness with joy and hope.
