Exodus 16:18-19
18 So when they measured it [the manna from heaven] by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need.
The manna here in the OT shadows Jesus as the true bread of life. It also speaks of His spoken Word that we are to feed ourselves with every day Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of Gods mouth.18 So when they measured it [the manna from heaven] by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need.
An interesting principle here is this:
Those who gathered much had nothing left over. And those who gathered little had no lack.
Its interesting because you would think that those who gathered much would have some leftovers and those who gathered little would not have enough.
But it didnt matter whether one gathered much or little. The result was the same everyone had enough.
This should encourage us because when it comes to our quiet time and study of Gods Word, even if you only have 10 minutes today to read your Bible, as long as you gather, God will speak to you and the little that you have will be enough to bless you for that day. You will not lack.
It doesnt mean that the brother who has five hours of quiet time will be more blessed than you because he is able to gather more.
No, both will be filled and will be equally blessed!
So don't feel lousy or condemned if you can only spare 10 minutes for quiet time today!
