Genesis 2:8 "And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, where He placed the man He had formed."

IF we want to understand the Garden in Eden then one approach is to understand what key words mean in the Bible. Right now we are looking at the word GARDEN. To study the Hebrew letters that make up this word maybe a new approach that people have not seen before. In the Hebrew there are only three letters: גַּן־ or GAN In Hebrew we read from right to left. The first letter is Gimmel. This means to run and return. It would take a whole book just to explain the meaning of run and return. A part of this is one becomes two in order to become one. We see this in evolution. God made male and female and the two are to become one. Genesis 2:24 "For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. " All of creation is in the process of run and return. All of creation is being redeemed and restored to God plan and purpose.

This is just the first letter of the first word and we already have two difficult concepts here to try to understand. Only this is important because this is the meaning of the letters that make up the word Garden. This is the reason why God planted a Garden in Eden and He took the man and then the women and He placed them in the Garden. Yet in the church there is so little understand of just what the Archetype story of the Garden of Eden is teaching us. Even though this is a huge evolutionary subject as this was the transition from hunter gather to food producer. This is the beginning of the modern, civilized world. This is where our story in the Bible begins. This is the beginning of recorded history. Clearly there are other words to deal with but I am just looking at the first letter of the word Garden. To see what meaning and understanding we can find in that letter.
