The Dare 2 Share "Gameday" conference was a resounding success. I don't yet have the final tally on the number of people saved this weekend but I believe it's a good number. I also don't have a number on how many people comitted their lives to Jesus, but from what I saw, it was well over 50%. We also collected 25 tons of food for the Denver Rescue Mission, which beats last year by a ton.

The preaching was AWESOME! Very timely and applicable messages from men who believe that all Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for us. If you ever get a chance to go to a Dare 2 Share conference, I would suggest going, and you can always volunteer
for anywhere from one shift to the whole weekend (I wound up doing the whole weekend) and your time will be appreciated, and seeing the teens strengthen their relationships with God will be more then reward enough. Volunteers do also get to attend the conference for free as long as you do at least 4 hours.

Some of the things that stand out are how around 9,000 teenagers gave up a Friday night and a whole day Saturday (some even more with traveling from other states) for something positive. 9,000 well mannered and respectful teens is something that I think is not always easy to get in one place, but it happened here.

On Saturday the teens put what they were taught into action as they went out for three hours knocking on doors, collecting food for the Rescue Mission and talking to people about their eternity. It was teens doing this, with adults standing by watching and praying. Saturday night they were given the "Cell Phone Challenge" where Greg Stier had the teens (adults were included) call someone they know who is unsaved and share the Gospel with them. Walking around and listening to the conversations was very moving for me. Something I know I would not have ever heard in my previous "God in a Box" religion.

I spent most of the weekend working "Stage Right, curtain" so I had a great vantage point for watching the preaching/teaching, the drama and skits, Starfield and Rachel Washington. For Superchic[k] I was front row stage, and with the well mannered crowd I was able to turn back and watch the show some. All in all, I was impressed.

I did get to spend some talking to Rachel Washington (
http://www.rachelwashington.com/Intro.html ) and found her to be a warm caring wonderful, smart and committed Christian lady, this before I realized she was one of the performers. She is very humble and a bundle of energy.

I also spent a good portion of time on Friday talking to Tim Neufeld the lead singer for Starfield ( http://www.myspace.com/starfield or http://starfieldonline.com/ ) also found him to be very well spoken and thoughtful before finding out he was with the band. Tim is also very humble and very down to earth.

After Superchic[k]'s set ( http://superchickonline.com/ or
http://www.myspace.com/superchick ) I got the chance to take my kids backstage and talk to Tricia Brock the lead singer, who my girls wanted to meet and with the lead guitarist Dave Ghazarian and found them to be the same as the two people mentioned above.

One of the things that stands out for me is how they didn't have any kind of "better then you" mentality but were humble and personable and very commited to their relationships with Jesus Christ.

I am so thankful I went and can't wait to make a few more Gameday conferences (Lincoln, Columbus, Seattle and Pheonix are on my schedule) along with at least 4 of next years "Survive" Dare 2 Share (http://www.dare2share.org ) conference. If God provides and opens the doors, I will also make the rest of the Gameday conferences this year in St. Louis, Atlanta and Chicago.

I just wish I could fully put into words the enthusiasm and excitment I have right now. My prayer life has never been better, nor has my time spent in Bible study. People all day today at work were commenting on a noticeable change and all i can do is Give Almighty God all the credit.

His for the Gospel,
Jim Ward
