35For whoever wants to save his life[3] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? 37Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 38If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

i would like to see what others interpret this passage to mean. Does the Forfeit/exchange of the soul mean someone who Litterally exchanges their soul for something
or is this verse saying not to put worldy things above the things of God? (seek first the kingdom of God)

does this passage indicate that a Christian can lose his salvation? Through apathy? through?

reading up on some commentaries i would personnally say that this passage is persuading christians to live first for God and the kingdom. However this brings up the other question: Is it possible for christians to lose their salvation through actions other than walking away from God?

From my interpretation the new testament supports that God holds one in his hand and that nobody can snatch them away however the Old testament sometimes seems to undermine this in some places

My real question i guess is who owns the Human Soul? God created man and the universe and yet we control ourselves. If God owns the soul then obviously nobody can snatch it away from him
or it is that one owns his/her own soul and it is the act of accepting Christ that transfers possesion of one's soul to God?

finally do the statments 'nobody can snatch them out of my hand' and 'there is one sin that the holy spirit cannot forgive contradict?
