  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay first of all I dont want anyone who doesnt really listen to hiphop posting up in here. I dont wanna see I dont like rap for all of these stupid reasons people keep on tellin me.

Anywayz what do you see for the future of hiphop. Right now to get the value we gotta go underground for most of the rappers. Who do you want to take the flag and carry hiphop on until the next generation. Because I dont really want hiphop known for this stuff 50 is puttin out. Sorry G-Unit fans but I think that they are making hiphop look bad. I gotta listen to the same song on the radio. I wish they would play some, Immortal Technique, some Black Star, some Common, or some Joe Buidden. I mean I aint gonna front like I dont listen to crunk muzik. But I think theres something wrong when 50 cent goes diamond but Talib Kweli can barely get gold. What do we value in our own muzik. Why do we let hiphop get perverted so now most rappers wanna put out garbage muzik. To sell records=garbage for so many rapers out there and that just aint cool.

So who do you want to see on the frontlines of hiphop??? Who and what do you want people to think of when they think of rap music??? I love hiphop but I get tired of defending it, you know what Im sayin...

Yes, Canibus is dope. I gotta say Mars ILL, amongst others. I think he's definitely on point. Black Star and Common deserve more exposure also. These are the guys that are really making hip-hop music. I mean, "Respiration" alone is doper than all those G-Unit Cd's combined.
And how 'bout Company Flow, El Producto, Pharoahe Monch, Thirstin' Owl III, even Dizzie Rascal and The Streets are representin'. Kool Keith is another cat that's been underground for too long. Dude, there's so much talent in the underground, but all these MTV thugs be getting all the airplay. And as long as it keeps on selling by the million it's not gonna change.
