To further refute the teachings of mid-Acts (or, hyper- dispensationalists) re their belief that Paul was sent as an Apostle to the Gentiles only, let us look at Acts 9:10-15.... "Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, Ananias, And he said, Here I am, Lord.
So the Lord said to him, Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.
But the Lord said to him, Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel."
If Paul had restricted his ministry to Gentiles only, he would have directly disobeyed God, and failed to carry out His will.
Also, in Acts 15:1-29 (please read for yourself), Paul and Barnabas traveled to Jerusalem to settle the matter of whether those from among the Gentiles who had trusted Christ were required to be circumcised and keep the Mosaic Law..... the judgement of the Apostles and elders was that the converted Gentiles were not required so to do.
And in verse 25, contrary to the position of mid-Acts dispensationalists that the Apostles were not members of the Body of Christ/Bride of Christ/Church, but were of the Apostolic Church, they referred to themselves and the Christians in Antioch (The majority of whom were converted Gentiles), as "brothers".
On his second missionary journey, Paul (and Silas, both of whom were converted, or ex-Jews), delivered the decrees which the Apostles and elders had come to as recorded for us in Acts 16:4,5....!
"And as they (Paul and Silas) went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem. So the churches were astrengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily."
Strange behavior if the Apostles held no authority concerning the Body of Christ.
