I'd say fruity rather than flaky but...

So what would be difference between fruit then and now? Lots of people still live in tropical regions and have high-fruit diets.

The term fruit has different meanings dependent on context, and the term is not synonymous in food preparation and biology. Fruits are the means by which flowering plants disseminate seeds, and the presence of seeds indicates that a structure is most likely a fruit, though not all seeds come from fruits.

No single terminology really fits the enormous variety that is found among plant fruits. The term 'false fruit' (pseudocarp, accessory fruit) is sometimes applied to a fruit like the fig (a multiple-accessory fruit; see below) or to a plant structure that resembles a fruit but is not derived from a flower or flowers. Some gymnosperms, such as yew, have fleshy arils that resemble fruits and some junipers have berry-like, fleshy cones. The term "fruit" has also been inaccurately applied to the seed-containing female cones of many conifers.

Off topic but funny: In 2007 the official state vegetable of Oklahoma was declared to be - the watermelon. Why? Well the politician who pushed for the resolution represents a big watermelon growing region, and Oklahoma already had a state fruit (the strawberry), so... Scientifically I guess he's not incorrect, but still, that's some chutzpah.

I don't understand how any wayward belief by another Christian or non Christian justifies mocking the Bible. Do you really think we do the Gospel any good by mocking the stories that God has seen fit to place in the OT for our edification. The OT is still the word of God.

I apologize if you felt that was inappropriate, but I don't think any of us were mocking the stories themselves; maybe mocking pop culture if anything. Many a time I've heard preachers in the pulpit tell made-up jokes based on Old and New Testament events.

No need to apologize. I understand and appreciate the humor. I was not offended.

My only concern is the image of the Bible in todays world. I know for a fact there will be countless Christians worshiping at the throne of the Father who spent their entire lives believing every literal word of the stories of Genesis. I also know there are countless lost today who won't give a listen to the beauty of the Gospel because of the parroted mocking of these same stories. They won't listen to the deep truths because of superficial views.

I prefer to tread lightly in this area.
