  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just watched Frozen on dvd and I just have to make it one of my all time favorites! Not to mention just say the words "lets build a snowman" around any kids and you will start a song fest!

The movie could have a scripture reference with the verse "perfect (true) love casts out fear". Along with sisterly love, that is the primise of the movie.

I love Frozen but I have to say it was much more hyped. I find that I enjoy a lot of the older Disney films more such as The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. I also enjoyed Tangled more. Don't get me wrong, I loved Frozen and it wasn't a bad movie and I enjoyed it. I think it was definitely a powerful film.

Though, it's possible I mostly feel this way due to growing up Disney. I had a lot of the tapes and both Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid were my classic favorites. Guess it makes sense they are still ranked above Frozen, haha. Despite The Little Mermaid being my number one throughout childhood I did not own it until this year. I'm still hoping to buy Frozen soon though. It's definitely a movie to own.

I side with PixieSunbelle...it's a fine film but it was massively overhyped. I don't believe nostalgia has anything to do with preferring the older films, though: 'The Little Mermaid' and 'Beauty & the Beast' (and several others from the Disney Renaissance) were objectively better films, in my honest opinion.

'Frozen' has some great things about it, but it still has its flaws: it has some plot holes, it lacks some character development, a few of the songs are clunkers...it's still an enjoyable movie and a fun way to kill 90 minutes, but it doesn't measure up to the artistry of something like 'The Lion King' or the solid script of 'Tangled'. I still have to believe that if it wasn't for the inescapable success of "Let It Go", it wouldn't have been nearly as hyped.

That's another really good one I love! The Lion King! It's also my husband's favorite Disney film. Objectively I also think Mulan and Pocahantas were also better. Frozen was a musical, definitely. Sometimes I think it should have a category all to itself, haha.

Of the Disney Renaissance, 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' is one of my all-time favorites. The animation is stunning, and there's so many deep themes you rarely see in these types of films. The '90s were just an incredible time for Disney, and very few films since have lived up to those heights.

I will give 'Frozen' this much: I think it's a better film than 'Hercules' or 'Tarzan', and definitely better than 'Home on the Range', 'Brother Bear', 'Chicken Little', 'Bolt', etc. Also, I know that everybody will disagree with me, but I never much cared for 'Aladdin', so I'll throw 'Frozen' above that one, too. I'd put it on par with 'Pocahontas', though...they both have their pros and cons.

I loved Bolt. Tarzan was meh and I never saw Hercules nor have I ever wanted to. I never even saw Cinderella either. I was always more interested in the one with Whitney Houston. Aladdin is one of my favorites. I grew up on that movie. The 90s really were a wonderful time for Disney! I just think some of the newer ones are trying too hard. The entire movie of Frozen was built on the songs instead of them just being there.

I wish this move never existed. Mainly for the annoying song. The song was aired SOOOO much after it came out that I lost all interest in even tempting to see it. Event he make of it recently admitted she hates the song and doens't want to hear it anymore. Theres also the fact many believe since its Disney that the overall story (as in the song) is about letting go of what people think of you and them accepting who you are instead. Aka Disney saying if your a certain "sexual orientation" that its ok to be you. People say thats crazy but lets not forget the orientation of he owner of Disney now. Walts nephew or something like that whos....not so straight.
