There is both a bad and a good way to fear God.

The bad way -

A penny, unlike a hundred dollar bill, has the words "In God we trust" on top of the front...on the hundred those words are on the back, and the works of man's hands spears up through their midst. (One can even observe the downward/backward slide which increases as the associated value goes up, for example: on a dime those words, though still on the front, are no longer on top.)

God created both free will and predestination.

Free will so no one can rightly say, "He made me bad".

And predestination so no one can correctly say, "I made myself good".
