hiy'all, here's a short tale.....
While i was a late teen i remember picking up an old family bible out of the cabinet at home and reading something in the gospels that Jesus said which made me a little afraid.
A few years later i moved to a really small country town for work and my parents suggested i attend church to meet some people. So i met a few christians and went around their house a couple of times etc. One of them gave me a couple of books by Paul Little called, "Why I Believe" and "What I Believe" or something like that, which i read with much interest. Soon i left town and kept moving north to another state....
Sometime later i met my friend from that little country town in hospital as he had broken his foot playing basketball. I visited him a few times. I knew he wanted me to turn to Christ. Anyway, on my third visit i said, "I want to become a Christian". So we prayed, and i felt a deep sorrow come over me and i called out to Jesus to save me, told him i believed that he died for my sins and rose again etc. Anyway, after this serious session with God, i rose up and i felt like something new and wonderful had happened to me (yes, i know it sounds corny, but it happened!) and i rode my bike back home and noticed that things around me seemed new and i was so happy!
A week or so later after reading a couple of books about John Wesley and George Whitfield i was exited about what they did. I decided i wanted to go and preach Christ to people in town. So i rode my bike into the mall with my little old KJV bible. I paced up and down the mall a couple of times really nervous etc and then suddenly i was as the bible says, "filled with power when the Holy Ghost comes upon you" (to be my witnesses). My heart welled up with warm love from inside and it spread throughout my body. Wow!!!! and i began to preach Christ at the top of my voice. That's it!
