In 1999, I got a copy of PCGamer that had a preview for this game. It finally came out last year, after the company that was making it shut down and microsoft took over. After that happened, they had to revamp the graphics and the entire game.
I thought that would lessen how much it rocks.

I was wrong.
I found it for $19.99USD at EB yesterday, after the price finally dropped, and it's just purely great. I really am in love with this game.

Any other players here?
I'm going to go online after I've figured the game out well enough.

I've been staying up til at least 3am playing this game since I posted this thread.
At first, I was kind of irked by the lack of regular NPCs (besides the couple of main characters used to drive the story), but the more I play I kind of like the lonely feeling of it. Running through trade lanes for hours on end is actually kind of soothing. :o

I'm thinking about going online soon..I've yet to actually join the server, cos I kept chickening out.

I'll probably go online tonight, cos I'm stuck on mission 3 (didn't buy the right weapons before starting the mission, screwed up the saved game files..keep dying)..
