  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The only thing I don't like is their insistance on KJV only.

That being said, I would join them in a heartbeat if they were in my area.

It's my understanding [as a AV only kind of guy], they use it for [mainly] Church unity.

Still, they could have picked a slightly less horrid translation

ESV, NASB, these are good translations in modern language. Using a KJV Bible today defeats the purpose of translation (to put it in the language of the reader).

Sorry, I don't like either one of 'em. Personally, I think they have the right idea, wait until another translation gets the same approval AND THEN select another translation for the sake of unity. The purpose of translations is to make money, if you couldn't make money we'd have very few Bible translations from which to choose from. The ESV gives a kick back to the WCC and the NASB is forever changing...http://www.lastdays.ca/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=78
That said, the KJV is a translation, but I'll wait to see how this whole thing pans out. Before you know it, we'll have NESV...maybe that'll be the one?

Back to the op, Ian Paisley [FreePresby] is an out spoken defender of Reformed thought. He yelled repeatedly "I denouce you, Anti-Christ" at a European Parliament meeting during a papal visit.

I love that man! I've listened to his talk-back radio debate shortly after that event and he did a good job. But just the guts he had to do so, the man reminded me of Luther.
