  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

teh problems i have been having is when i open up OE it opens my default messenger program (Which is AIM). if aim is already open, it will sign me off and sign me back on again. another problem i have been having is that i have to enter my pw for my email every time i open OE. i know there is a "remember my password" thingy, but i check that every time and i have entered the pw from the options too. its just too buggy, and i dont really want to fix it. im using operas new "thunderbird email" and its great.

Well, try this. In OE go to Tools | Accounts | Mail | properties of your account | Servers | retype your pass and put the check in "Save pass" | OK | Close.

As for the AIM situation, I'm not sure why it does that. Try going to Tools | Options | Connection | Check "ask before switching..." and uncheck "hang up after / send receive" | OK.

can you get Opera's email client w/out d/loading the browser? And how is it "fun" to use, compared to OE (I have OE, and have one bug that I can't figure out..LOL)

I don't think it's the email client that's triggering the AIM, I'd look into AIM as well:

Go to the main chat window>click on 'My AIM'>'edit options'>'edit preferences'>select 'Sign on/off'>and UNcheck 'make AIM my default IM progam'>click 'apply' then 'ok'

I had that popping up whenever I open up OE, but once I had that turned off, I never had that problem.

thank goodness I have Trillian now. :)
