• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That's another good one! I can't believe I forgot about that one!

Yes that's one of my very favorites. The teaching is sound and it is an amazing source of free studies. They have just put up a new small group study that looks to be really good for new Christians.

(John 16:12-to-15) I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
(Joh 16:13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
(Joh 16:14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
(Joh 16:15) All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

There is a Free Bible Software program on www.e-sword.net You can download many versions of the OT & NT in many languages! There are also copies of the OT in the Hebrew and NT in the Greek with Strongs numbers. I use it all the Time!

ONE MORE THING? The Holy Spirit is the Real Teacher of Truth as stated above. IF you will take the time and effort and Study the Word, God will reveal Himself to you, as HE did in 1Samuel 3:21. Also you should see 2Chronicles 12:14 and do what it says before you study the Word!

Thanks Roger459

Depends on what kind of study you want to do.

The above links have some helpful material for expository and hermeneutic studies. I would actually not recommend looking at any commentaries except as the LAST resource after looking at other material.

After looking over the Bible passage itself, the first resource you should turn to is Strong's Concordance. If you don't buy any other Bible study aids, I really suggest you buy yourself a copy of Strong's Concordance. You can look Strong's concordance online here:
http://www.eliyah.com/lexicon.html

A couple of other links:
Good site for different Bible translations: http://www.biblegateway.com/
Another huge resource site: http://bible.crosswalk.com/

If you don't want to do an intensive expository study and want to do a more personal Bible Study, then you probably want less of an academic endeavor and something more along the lines of reflective questions. There are all sorts of different Bible study guides out there, but most quality ones are not online except for this one.
This is the IVP Quiet Time Bible Study. You can find Acts here:
