Hi and it is good to welcome another newbie to knitting and crochet. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you are not using the correct yarn for the pattern? Can you tell us what kind of yarn you are using? Is it the same as stated in the pattern?

Blessings

Hi! I'm new to this corner of CF. Couple questions. Are you knitting or crocheting? Is the problem that the yarn ends are unravelling, or is your work piece coming apart?
If it's the work itself, I don't have an answer except maybe start over. If it's just the ends of the yarn, you might try an overhand knot near the tip, or you could try a dab of fabric glue on the ends when you cut them from the skein. Just make sure it's a glue that dries clear. But I don't know how the glue might take to washing. You might have to hand wash the scarf.

That yarn looks gorgeous. I've never tried that type. I usually stick to knitting worsted, usually Red Heart.

It's just the ends, not the whole project that is coming unravelled. Wouldn't matter so much if I weren't planning on putting on a fringe. I ended up fringing it anyway and tied a small knot in the ends of each piece, and it didn't really affect the overall look or anything. I am pleased with the result.

It is! It has such a smooth, satiny feel to it, and you can't really tell from the photos, but it has a nice sheen. It felt really nice on the hands to work with and because the yarn is smoother it was easier to slip the crochet hook through.
