Recently, Pope Francis appointed three new members of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. Notably—according to the reporting of Vatican expert Edward Pentin—all three can be linked to concerning statements, actions, or alliances regarding the topic of homosexuality.

The three prelates are Archbishop Bruno Forte, Cardinal Jose Tolentino de Mendonca, and Cardinal Marcello Semeraro.

Christianity is going woke. We are in the last days. For all those who think Revelation happened in Nero's days, we are sorely mistaken. The seeds were sown during the Roman empire, but the end times are taking root now.

I’m guessing he see’s it as his job to open things up so his predecessor can move things along. You look at his picks for cardinals, etc. I do not know what else to think. I could be completely wrong but that’s just my impression at this point. I often feel like this is a exercise in gaslighting.

Terrible. How far will Pope Francis take this? He always says one thing and does another.
If Pope Francis is going this route, imagine the next Pope (say, in the 2030s-2040s). It will be much worse. :)

I may be Catholic, but I do not trust in popes as much as Jesus, only in the Word of God, and the Eucharist.

Same here. I'll follow Jesus, even if the Church turns away.

We will have to use discernment a lot more nowadays.
If you believe what the Church teaches…the Holy Spirit prevents the Pope from speaking error from the chair. He also cannot go against the already infallible teachings of the Church. No worries.

Well, papal infallibility was introduced in 1870, so relatively recently in the scheme of things. I trust God more. Eventually, we might get a pope which could fail us.

Papal infallibility or not, nobody can go against established infallible teachings. Otherwise the Church is not what she claims to be. We cannot be Protestants/ our own Pope. It just does not work that way in the RCC.

That is true, and I do not want to go against a church (RCC) that I joined two years ago, as I do believe in transubstantiation.

Bro. We are not gonna go here about this passage from Revelation. This is not a sub-forum to be trashing the Catholic faith. I do not agree with everything from the RCC, but I am a Catholic myself. Rome is not Babylon, and please do not make this comparison again.

Instead of thinking about the end times (even though we might be close to the end times), how about we focus (both Catholic and Protestant) on solving issues such as homelessness and climate change?
