  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi!

Have switched to the 2nd format editor in options to be able to post at all, but still there is no way to use color, font size, bold, etc, quote, and smileys as well as when typing in a members name in pm it doesn't show suggestions. Have to manually quote.

On wysiwyg which is the default formatting get the same as above but with this one, can't even post.

Thanks so much,
take care.

Two questions:
1) What browser/version are you using?
2) Is javascript enabled? I'm pretty sure the formatting buttons and smiley buttons and such use javascript to enter it into the posting box. So you should just check and make sure that it's enabled for the site.

And wait... you can't post? If you turn off wysiwyg, can you post?

Hi, thanks for writing! Yes, javascript is enabled, and I had to turn off wysiwyg long ago to be able to post at all. Nothing makes sense. Everything used to work fine. It's been this way since the major crash a month or two ago that things stopped working properly.

So, yes, wysiwyg is turned off, I have other option selected to be able to post, but nothing; fonts, color, smileys, none of those work, and with quoting i have to manually put the quote code in.

I use firefox 3.0.11

Thanks for your help.

Take care
