hi everyone. I am a born again Christian. In the past I was a bad person. I have lied and done bad things. I have changed though and am trying to be the best person I can be. I have been on these forums before and have lied and sinned. I ask for all of your prayers and forgiveness that I move on on in a relationship with Jesus. Thank you all for the beautiful forums

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Stay very close to the Lord Jesus and seek to honor God in all things you think, say and do, and you will do well. He takes good care of His own saints, as I have found in over 60 years of Christian sojourn.

Why should you ask for our forgiveness in something that wasn't against us? those who have acted out are those who have experienced what it is to do so and your willingness to let God into your heart is a testimony that you are repentant of your previous deeds. If you've wronged someone you should ask for their forgiveness and more important you should forgive yourself. That, in my opinion is the hardest thing of all to do, since the remembrance of your deeds will forever be engraved into your mind.
What is good in this is you understand more clearly than those who have not your experience what it is to be that person and are uniquely qualified to understand those who have walked the same road as you and you will be able to more greatly sympathize with their pain.
I have walked a fairly defiling path myself and I know that there is salvation for me as well as you. In exchange you know there is salvation for you and for those who come after you. You know by your experience how to find the path that has lead you here and you can lead others along that same path to the destination you have now arrived at.
