Before I start I'm not trying put down my Church. Its full of good people and all that but some things I don't believe.
Okay, so my Church I'm currently going to is a fairly strict holiness Church. So women with short hair, pants, ect and looked down upon as immodest and what have you. Same goes with men and long hair and shorts. Other things such as TV, movies (Unless it has Mr. Kirk Cameron in it), video games, and non hymn/southern Gospel music (even the music on KLOVE is considered 'too worldly' for many) and considered 'worldly' and should be 'shunned' by true believers. Some of them also seem to put Kent Hovind's as the same level of truth as the Bible.
Anyways, I could focus on other things but I'm just going to say something that annoys me the most. Very few of the adults in the Church really seem to want an outreach program for the youth because they are afraid that they will 'infect' their children with worldliness. There is talk of outreach but hardly ever any action because of said reason above. One of them even refused to accept a propose for the Church to have a facebook page because its too worldly. The whole thing bothers me greatly because I would love to help with an outreach with people my age but it seems that I there is very little backing from the congregation (other than the pastor, youth leader, and an older lady) so nothing ever gets started. I sometimes wonder how some of the members of my Church would react if 'worldly non-holiness teens' was to come to our Church. I remember onetime these two kids road their bikes three miles to get to our church. Both of them had no church experience but they kept coming for about three weeks until one of them said 'crap' and got yelled at by this one guy that thankfully left for being 'Unchristian like' (even though I've heard his say far worse when he thought no one was around)
I dunno.
Anyways, I feel like that I am expected to hold the standards of the Church even though I don't agree with them. Like, I think that there a bigger issues going on than women wearing pants and whatnot.
