This hits me hard as I have family who are Sikhs
Also when my parents lived in nj, (before 9/11) people called "dot busters" would harass Indian/middle eastern people to the point where no one would dare wear unamerican clothes.

Makes me we live close to Wisconsin, and my parents went to a temple last night, and it was super late and they still were not home. i called and no answer...but finally they came

I don't know if this will be any comfort to you, but on a radio interview I heard this morning with one of the Wisconsin Sikhs, the man said that their neighbors had accepted them into the community and that was why this came as such a shock.

I'm glad your family is ok.
