  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Here are two quick crafts that children love.
1. crayon over a sheet of paper in various colours until the whole page is finished, then paint over it with any type of non-toxic children's paint. When the paint has dried, use a coin or such other item to scrape out a design on the paper to reveal the rainbow of colours crayoned!!
2. With the same kind of paint mentioned above, apply different coloured paint blobs in the middle of a sheet of paper, then fold over then paper and spread the paint in a sweeping motion. When you open the paper out, you should have a beautiful butterfly shape! :D
This will kept the babes entertained for ages! (And the parents if your anything like me! ;) )

Here's a few more fun ideas for small kids. These are some that I've picked up through years of working in day care centers :)

If you have a toddler who can't handle a paint brush yet (or an older child who likes to get her hands messy :)), here's a good way to entertain them. Take an old plastic tray and squirt out a pile of shaving cream. They LOVE the feel of it and they will smear it around the tray forever. If you have a little one who wants to taste everything they put their hands on, use cool whip instead (although this is MUCH stickier than shaving cream :)).

Another idea for small kids who want to taste everything they get their hands on...instead of finger paint, give them yogurt. And for something fun, a little KoolAid powder to swirl around makes pretty colors. Not much 'painting' gets done, but, like the shaving cream, it's all about getting into your art :)

If you're worried about the mess, these crafts, and painting with paints as well, are really fun for kids to do outside in warm weather. Then just hose them down before they come in :) Doing it outside will make it that much more fun for them.

Love, Heather
