FOR SITE SUPPORTERS - Keyword Search in Thread Title in Specific Forums!

This is now open to all SITE SUPPORTERS only.

The search can be accessed from the navbar (where you do keyword searches on ALL thread titles in ALL forums) or you can click on "Advanced Search" from the navbar dropdown menu and from the search page choose the forum you want to search in.

Due to the number of threads we have (over 1 million) and the number of registered members we have, this keyword search will only be limited to Site Supporters to avoid search server crashing.

Ahh... I had a search box there that is not meant to be there... use the keyword search at the bottom of the search page, or use the navbar drop down search box.

It's limited to the past 200 results for now.

I searched for "mormon" and "trinity" in the UTD forum (both of which are in current thread titles), and received this message. Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

You're right - there is a bug. Let me look into it...

Ooohhh....I was using the google search to search the website. When I tried the thread titles search, I came back with no matches.

Personally, I find the google search on the site is useless. Try searching for "would you change your opinion" and it just links you to the OT forum, but it's a long buried thread and if I knew what page it was on, I wouldn't have to search for it to begin with. But if you type in the same phrase, along with christianforums in the actual Google, you'll find a direct link to the thread I'm talking about.

Note, this does't work on the Christianforums Web search either.

Thus, this new title search will be much appreciated.

After many hours of debugging, I found out it was an extra query term that was the problem.

Okay, Site Supporters can beta-test this feature now. Let me know how it goes.

It works! I searched Catholic on the Baptist/Anabaptist Forum and it came up with five results.

Yep, it works! I searched "mormon" in UTD and it gave me 200 results (but not all were in UTD).
