I'm new here so I dont know if this has been suggested already but it would be nice to have a forum for monastics(monks and nuns). I'm a nun myself, so it would be nice. Its just a thought....

perhaps make it a cross-denominational sub forum of OBOB?

There are Lutheran, Episcopalian, Catholic, and Orthodox Christian monastics with a variety of traditions.

Sister Joanna is an Orthodox Christian nun.

Perhaps a Subforum can be opened in each different faith congregation upon request.

Each denomination has its own traditions - true- but monastics tend to share ideas on their spiritual practices with each other.
If the full-time ministry forum encompasses all denoms why not this?

I agree. There should be a forum for monastics. I also think there should be a sub-forum to such a forum for those who are discerning a vocation to the religious life or the priesthood.

I think it is a very good idea and it would be much more richer if it was all the denominations together to share... And maybe it would also encompass those who gave vows to live single for the Lord (in the service of the community...)

I "personally" wouldn't mind if there was just one forum for monastics, like all denominations. Yes we have different traditions..true, canons etc... BUT if someone was interested in learning more about the monastic life(what ever religion), then they could post in that forum..and who ever thinks could answer and help or advise, can post. Just my thoughts on the matter.
