Drift through my mind
When loving was easy
And not hard to find
Playing in the sunshine
Dandilions galore
Picking a handful
I just had to get more
Mommy was waiting
With supper for me
But I had to have flowers
For her to see
She worked so hard
And loved so strong
She was always there
Her voice like a song
One day I woke up
As a troubled teen
Making bad choices
Being hateful and mean
She stood by my side
Through my struggles of youth
Her wisdom and love
Is what pulled me through
With maturity and age
We became best friends
We share so much
The love never ends
I want to thank you, Mom

For being my guide
