I am trying to raise money for a youth trip to a Christian retreat. It is something that is held over 3 days. For the entire 3 days it is continueous worship services and Bible studies. On Sat. they have baptism at the lake and hold worship services there at the lake for that day. I have heard lots of testimonies from people who have gone to this and it is great. People have gotten healed, delivered, filled with the Holy Spirit, set on fire for God, and come to have a greater understanding of who He is. Some have layed their idols down at the alter to follow only God. They ask people to bring something that represents that idol (or write it on a piece of paper if they have nothing with them) and then they go out to the lake and burn their idols before the baptism to represent getting rid of idols to follow God.
It seems everyone who goes there gets a touch from God in some way and comes back to wherever they live set on fire for God. It is a time to get away from things of this world and focus on God...a time of refreshing, renewing, uplifing and encouraging, to seek God's face. So, that is why I am raising money to take a youth trip there.
I have had a collection of Reba McEntire memerabilia for a very long time now. It is something that over the years I have collected. I decided I would try and sell it to help raise money for this trip, but upon going to a fan based message board, had only a couple of interested people who ended up not purchasing the stuff. It is all in good condition, nothing is torn or messed up in any way. If you are interested you can PM me.
I know this may be of no interest to any of you, but this is the only thing I know I can do to try and raise the money for this trip. If I can't somehow raise the money then there will be no way to go. I thought I'd come on here as it is for a youth trip to a Christian retreat.
Any suggestions anyone has on ways to raise the money please let me know. Thanks.
