Footprints

i found that the Footprints poem helps me though my AS. i was speaking 2 a NT freind he told me 2 read footprints when i strugle with AS, and it helps.

eres the Footprints Poem

Footprints ​

​

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

hey I haven't been on here since you posted that...

that is one of my favorites inspiring poems... I find also that the serenity prayer does me a bit of getting back on track at times...

A friend gave me this full version of it and it speaks volumes... and tagged at the bottom is a related qoute from the Bible...I hope this helps you also...

God grant me the serenity ​

I also have recently read a story about a Tern...a type of bird that spends most of his time flying and he finds himself one day unable to fly any longer and the story is about his search for his purpose in his life... and this is the quote that I have been pondering myself alot lately...and I am feeling that God is asking me to share it with you right now... ​

I considered the shadow...considered that a bird in flight does not have a shadow by his side. Only when he lands can he reflect upon that dark stretch of himself. A shadow is a reminder of what is there even when it is not there. Up until this time I had not taken notice of my shadow, or any shadow for that matter. A bird really cannot fly if he cannot see that his feathers and wings are truly worthy and magnificent. A bird needs to see the substance in all things beneath his wings in order to fly about thie planet.

Hang in there Fionaban... You have some talents apparently hidden from even you at this point... look inside for the answers... for if you have taken Christ into your life where else does He reside but inside you...inside your heart...so something that i have learned recently is instead of looking up start asking inside...and believe it or not...He is easieir to hear when your ear is pointed in the right direction...go figure LOL​
