In Britain, a few of the large cities have two football teams, a Catholic and a Protestant team.

Is this a pattern world-wide, or a British phenomenon?
And do you support the team representing your denomination?

Liverpool: Liverpool (Protestant) + Everton (Catholic)
Manchester: United (Protestant) + City (Catholic)
Glasgow: Rangers (Protestant) + Celtic (Catholic)
Edinburgh: Hibs and Hearts, not sure which is which even thoug I live here

The only one that I knew was Catholic vs Protestant was Rangers vs Celtic. I have always liked Celtic, because they were Catholic and also because Claudio Reyna played for them, for a while.

It is probably also like that in Ireland, but I do not know of any other country that has that. So I am not sure.

I have been following the English Premier League more lately, because of all of the yanks that are playing over there now.

Celtic was startded when the irish started to move into Scotland. They started up their own foorball team there.

I imagine it is the case with the others as well.

If I were to pick a team, it'd be Celtic, because I used to go to school and church with their Manager's 2 daughters But if it came down to the actual football, I'd be clueless.
