So true! Amen!
I have gotten in mind earlier that some of the reasons God allows for us to not always have it comfortable and easy in life, is so that we will become more dependant on Him alone. We will have no other choice than to have to keep on trusting in Him, keep on holding ourselves close to Him, seeking Him, e.t.c...
As often when life gets comfortable it is easier to not feel much need for God, you also see it in the bible where God mentions if people have forgotten of Him? The jews would many times rebel against God turning their backs to Him, and once they got into trouble they would sincerely repent and cry out to Him. Because of God's mercy and love for them, He would every time deliver them out of their troubles.
This doesn't mean we can't live a good life where we still keep our focus on Him and worship Him. Looking at Noah, Job, and Abraham as some examples, these were considered as righteous men before God, they also won God's favor. Although they were also born into this sinful world, and weren't perfect humans, though they kept themselves close to God as well as wanting to live a good and holy life before God.
King David was a man after God's own heart, yet look at all the messes he got himself into? Still, he kept himself close to God, and he kept on seeking Him, he repented when this was needed for him to do, and still remained humble before God.
God also disciplines those whom He loves. This is also what I get into my mind more times, yet He disciplines us out of His love for us. Another dear brother in Christ said that He does this so that we will be made ready for eternity, and He wants us to make it through. The way He disciplines us may not always feel fair to us, and at first it can feel really painful and hard to get it. Also very humiliating. But He is refining us, preparing us in a way which will be glorifying Him.
Isaiah 48:10-11
"Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do
it;
For how should
My name be profaned?
And I will not give My glory to another."
