  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This thread will be where I share the progress of My book, title same as that of this thread: "Following God."

Right Now, I only have a page done, but my goal is to have a completed book. My Goals are:

(1) An interesting book to the committed Christian, the lukewarm believer, and the seeking non believer or non-theist
(2) An account of how God has been and is acting in my life (I have some good things to do with prophecy and God's protection)
(3) To share the whole and true character of God. i.e.: He is not only a loving Father, He's also a righteous Judge and He is also Perfect.
(4) Encourage thinking and exegesis and show connections between OT prophecy to NT fulfillment
(5) Explore the true context of the life of OT and NT Hebrews / Israelites / NT Gentiles and the churches.
(6) Clarify the cost of discipleship and to consider whether or not they are ready to follow Jesus.

I may have more goals, but as for time, I must apologize and go to sleep. :sweetdream:

Seeing as though I have no budget (I'm almost 16 and no full legal/monetary responsibility), I was thinking perhaps Amazon.com ebook (compatible with the iOS: iPads, anything similar to "i____," perhaps kindle). So in a nutshell, I'm thinking of just an ebook. Of course I'm open to advice and insight ;)

Thank you for your interest. I am young, and I may sound like just another young fool embarking on a huge job for pros only, but I know I am called by God to write this. I have faith that if this is His will, He will provide a way for it to get published. I'm thinking of just typing up a document on Pages (Apple's version of MS Word), exporting to an ePub version, and then submitting with Amazon or any such place.

Peace. :)

Each of us starts somewhere, you just happen to be starting at an early age. Awesome! It took nearly a third of life to realize what my passion is, you simply saved yourself time, which is more valuable than any resource known to man.

Keep doing what you're doing. Hard-work is the key, and, don't let anyone tell you differently about your passion.

Blessings,

I feel I should update my progress. I'm still in the editorial process (writing it up), and it's coming along great, God sure is supplying my and guiding me in this. As for the book, it will still be about following God, but the title will be "The Biblical Life," and it will be half apologetics (really it's mixed into it, but there will be an apologetic feel to it) and half introducing the life a Christian should live (as revealed in the Bible). The theme will still be about following God, but it also has a broader effect than it previously did.

will it be similar to "Pilgrim's Progress"?

Not quite, this book will be nonfiction (however I can foresee myself writing some Christian fiction, but <dorky>that's another jellybean for another day </dorky>) and it will be giving an account of what the Bible says of what our lives should look like. I also biblically show how church, Bible reading, good works, and grace are common "hot" topics, and are sometimes amplified over others, but if any one of these is over-amplified to the point of "worship," it can become dangerous and unbiblical.

I'll be talking about how life looks like through the correctly applied lens of the Bible. I'll give a "human response" of what each aspect is, and what our response should be (from a biblical view, support from Acts and the early church), and tips on how to live the "biblical life."

:D That sounded pretty repetitive, but if you can sift through my ramblings, you should be able to find my synopsis ;)
