  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've been offered the chance to go away with my mom for a week for completely free. She's going a week on Saturday to Spain.
It'll be about a 2 hour flight.
I'll be 15 weeks along.

Is it ok for me to go (everything that i've read has said that the 2nd trimester is the best time to go away etc)
And if i do - any recommendations on what i should do whille on the flight?

I asked my doctor when I found out I was pregnant as we had already bought the tickets, this is with my first. I was 6 months pregnant at the time, the flight time was the same 2 hours. He ok'ed me for up to 7 months.

My mother-in-law flew when she was around 8 months and her water broke on the plane.

I went to the USA when I was 10 weeks pregnant, and South Africa when I was 18 weeks along as well as flying to England up until 28 weeks...and it wasn't a problem.

I just wore those gorgeous flight socks for the long flights and kept drinking lots of water.

I have flown very often when I was pregnant- even late in my third trimester. Just stay hydrated, and wash your hands really well right after you get off the plane. Airplanes are like little germ chambers!

Two hours shouldn't be any big deal at all--if your feet feel swelled just draw the alphabet with each foot (raise it slightly off the floor and trace the aplphabet in the air qith your toes) to keep the blood flowing.

I flew at 14 wks (5.5 hour flight) and at 20 weeks (again 5.5 hour flight). Midwife/Dr recommended I get up and walk around every hour if possible.
My sister flew for business from wk 1 until about week 35 and then she wasn't allowed to fly anymore. She flew about every other week. Same thing...stay hydrated and walk around.

You should be fine. Just ask your doctor if you're worried. I flew at 27 weeks and at 29 weeks and had two 8 hour flights. Just make sure you walk around a lot, drink lots of water, and wash your hands!!! :) My doctor also showed me some ankle exercises to do while sitting in my seat to keep the blood moving.
