For only moments you were ours to hold,​

A greater destiny was yours to behold.​

In the arms of Jesus will you always be,​

Smile Daniel down upon us
until we meet on the other side of eternity.​

You were chosen by God to fill the heavens
with your laughter and joy,​

Although you cannot be with us,
you will always be our special little boy.​

If I close my eyes I can see you dancing
with the angels in brilliant glory above.​

Wrapped up, warm and safe
forever in the Fathers Love​

I cannot help but ask the question
why this had to be,​

Although I know you are in a wonderful place;
I would rather that you were here with me.​

I cannot promise
that I will ever stop missing you
and cry for you every single day​

Hope is all I have to hold on to now,
because what I wanted to hold
has been taken away.​

On earth I may never receive
the answers to my questions
or understand the reasons why,​

But I know God is closer to me
now than ever,
healing my broken heart
and comforting me when I cry.​

Only He can fill this emptiness
and soothe my aching grief,​

Only He can give me strength for each day
and give me His everlasting peace.​

I will close my eyes
and try to imagine the beauty of where you are,​

Knowing that you are shining brighter
than any morning star.​

Dance our darling Daniel as sweet praises you sing,​

Fly free forever
on the mighty angels feathered wings.​

Run through fields of flowers
and walk with Jesus down the streets of gold​

Your destiny Daniel
was the glory of heaven to behold.​

I know you will be waiting for us our dear son,
at heavens golden gate,​

How we long for that day when we will see
your sweet little face.​

That is truly beautiful. Praise God for using you to post that poem up for me. Yesterday afternoon I watched a movie about a man who was actually an Angel and when he had to return to Heaven leaving his loved ones behind it made me cry.

I became concerned because I worry about me still crying for Gabriel (my son) even though I lost him in November. I cry nearly every other day for him and I began to wonder if it's healthy. I think the following lines from the poem has answered my concerns.

I cannot promise

wow.. all i can say is WOW that is beautiful.. thank you so much for sharing that with all of us. i have writtin some poems and letters to my daughter (nevaeh) and it helps and i hope that poem helped you aswell... love lots.

Thank you all for sharing the beautiful words you wrote to the child you lost. I have not yet been able to do that, but know that the time is coming. I lost my unborn child last week, at 10 1/2 weeks. I am 37 and this was my (and my husband's) first child. While we are in the early stages of grief, we are committed to the process. We are hurt, angry and questioning, but take comfort in the fact that our child is being raised in heaven and will never know sorrow or sickness. We know that God is good, and He is soverign, and we trust that He will get us through. In the meantime, we are slowly going forward and healing the best we can. I couldn't go to Easter Service this morning, and that's okay. It kind of seems strange that life simply goes on. I know that with the passing of each day, it will be easier for me to go on too. Blessings to you all.
