  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Flutters, or Indigestion?

A few nights ago I was taking a bath and I felt something funny in my tummy. It kind of felt like gas, but it was softer than that. I didn't really think too much about it, though. Then, last night I was reading in bed and I felt it again. It came and went a few times, and it was just a little flutter-like feeling. Gas usually hurts a little, so it made me wonder. I'm 12-13 weeks, so maybe it is a little early for flutters, but maybe not!

I know we had a thread on this earlier, but I couldn't find it. :)

Well I hope it's really flutters! I read a little about them today and I found out that most people don't feel them until much later, but occasionally a woman feels them earlier on. We'll see! If I feel them again, I'll be so excited!

I'm so jealous of you - you must be so pleased.

I'm nearly 17 wks and i haven't felt anything yet :( i'm starting to get worried. The only things that's stopping me going to see the midwife is that my belly is still growing and i'm still getting morning sickness (plus i see her on 27th Feb)

it's still early yet, plus you have to be real still. It can easily be mistaken for gas when the baby is as small as yours and mine are. Usually after you eat, if you have time to sit still and quiet for a bit you might feel a little tap or flutter but don't forget the baby is in a water sack so it wont be easily felt when he or she is small. Wait a few more weeks you should be able to feel a little something by then. It happens when you don't expect it and it's barely noticable but, when it does you Know

Its most likely flutters. It might be a slight bit early..but everyone is different as to what and when they are able to feel.

With my first i felt the flutters at 15 1/2 weeks and with this one i felt the flutters right at 14 weeks. My cousin is on her 4th baby and always feels the baby later. She didnt feel this one till 19 weeks.

Since I posted this thread I haven't felt the baby move, until today! I've been feeling what I think is the baby flutter around on and off for over an hour! The funny thing is, it is all completely on my left side. At first I thought maybe it was a muscle moving, but it sure feels like the flutters I had before, only stronger. Is it strange for the baby to be on my left for so long?

I was resting on my right side a couple nights ago and felt activity on my left. I think she preferrs to squeeze herself into the left corner of my uterus and she was trying to get over there. When I'm working sometimes I'll actually get a little ache there and I know it's her because I'll gently massage it and it goes away. It might be cozy to her but, not so for me :)
