  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Flirting in mid-life

I've never been a big flirter, but every now and then a cute guy will catch my eye and I'll smile (or check his ring finger, lol!).

As I've gotten older, though, I've started feeling self-conscious about flirting. Mainly because I realize I could be "robbing the cradle" - if only for a moment. I mean, I'm in my mid-40s, and I'm not the best judge of age. So I think to myself: I could very well be flirting with some guy who is young enough to be a son (or at least a nephew!).

I've been told that *I* don't look my age, which makes me feel a bit more at ease -- not like I'm an old ogler. ;) But still...

Can anyone relate? Flirting can still be fun, but I feel myself not wanting to freak a guy out. The last thing I want is for some young man to fear he has a "cougar" eyeing him. LOL.

Jenster,
I like that your having some fun now that you couldn't have when you were younger. I got a GF now and I miss the flirting that I did when I was single. I get a little flirting with her but it just doesn't seem to work as well not that I know her better. :(

Go ahead and flirt...you might find a cub you like....KIDDING LOL! But seriously, if that's your personality I see no harm in it. And maybe you'll meet someone you like that IS your age that doesn't look it either....hmmm ever think about that?:wave:

I think flirting is flattering especially when you are older and have kids.. if some guy flirts with me.. it can give me such a buzz for days.. we all need to be desirable and fun and enjoy our lives.. It makes you walk taller and smile.. and heaven knows we all need some of that...

I think it is healthy and I hope your cheer some hearts along the way as long as find the one heart that never stops flirting with you.. :)

If you enjoy your sanity....
I wouldn't suggest it...:o

I was on staff for 3+ years...and at one point one of the Site Advisors ...
It really does take a lot out of you...a *lot*

It took a year before I could even consider coming back and posting as a member again when I left staff.
