There are 100s of billions of photos from space! There are dozens of satellites that do nothing but take pictures of Earth from space all day long. They have been doing this for decades. Where do you think weather data comes from? The military has mapped every inch of this planet for their uses, and remaps it all regularly to check for troop movements.
50 years ago the Army had satellites that could read the insignia on a Russian Generals cap while he stood outside in Cuba.
