You were just kidding yourself. One who becomes One with God, is One...you are not, and therefore never were.
If you want my straightforward answer, go back and read it. No one is going to drag you up the hill.
You're too late. The corpse that once would have heard that shortsighted ignorance is already deceased. Then it would seem we both have effectively the same position.
I think any time you commit to religious are a complete waste and will not stop the inevitable and verifiable end that is awaiting you and I and any life that has ever existed.
Worm food and nothing more.
But it's no loss to me, only you.
Sort of like first and second class Christians, then. I can guess which one you consider yourself to be.There are Christians and then there are Christians. Being a follower of Christ is one thing, being born again of the spirit of God is another.
I did. You don't come back from light to darkness. You realize that in this analogy, the fish stuck in the water would be able to watch the walking fish leave the water and then come back...thereby giving the fish in the water some proof of their claims.
Seems like your fishing for a decent analogy. Let me know if you come up with anything good.
I did. You don't come back from light to darkness.
No idea what you mean by that...unless it's the typical "I've seen the light" shtick that gets repeated so often by believers.
The irony, of course, is that you can go blind by staring into light...or by having a light shined into your eyes after being in darkness. Anyone who has been hunting/fishing at night knows this. The best way to see in the darkness is to turn off any light source whatsoever...and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. Once they do, everything becomes clearer.
The light refers to being healed of spiritual blindness.
Darkness is synonyms with not knowing, not seeing, i.e. "no idea." But darkness cannot exist in light. God is light, and in Him there is no darkness. No idea what you mean by that...unless it's the typical "I've seen the light" shtick that gets repeated so often by believers.

Ok...
That might have some meaning if we could hypothetically notice some difference between those who claim to have "spiritual sight" and those who don't. As far as anyone has shown...the only difference is that those who have "seen the light" believe they have some spiritual sight. Merely believing something doesn't make it true though.
Seeing is believing. I agree
Wonderful...so can you demonstrate that you have this "spiritual sight" or not?
If i did you wouldn't see it.
I'll take that as a "no".
Can you at least explain how you would demonstrate your spiritual sight?
The greatest of ironies exist among Atheists and scientists, who campaign for evolution, but cannot even conceive evolving themselves or ascending to anything higher than their best organic self.
Through faith, love, and hope.
I'm sorry...you're saying you'd demonstrate it through emotions?
Maybe I'm asking you the wrong questions. How about this...what does your spiritual sight do? Does it let you see things that I can't see? (Like ghosts and auras and such). Does it give you information that I don't have? (Like what the weather will be like on this day a year from now, prophecy) Does it make clear strange and foreign concepts?
If it's just the ability to feel emotions...I can only promise you that I feel emotions as well.

Nonetheless, they end up here, here at the edge of their physical world gazing shoreward, not knowing there is more than a world above their own, but also waters above and beyond. These are fish out of water, and their instinct is to wiggle and fight and return to the sea...and why wouldn't they? Their eyes cannot see above, even in the air, let alone the waters above.
For most of us, it was fishers of men that lured us in. Some were born flying fish. Some didn't wait to be caught, but jumped in the boat. But the fish analogy only goes so far to explain, that like the waters below, there is also waters above, that great reef in the sky.
But how do you tell a fish that will not evolve about dry land, or prove what is dry...while immersed? How do you tell a landlocked fish about other waters, when they cannot and will not come out of the water?
Treating them like deadbeat couch potatoes isn't working. Any ideas?
PS, Greeting them with open arms isn't really working either. Isaiah 65:2
