  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone...I thought it might be kind of nice to remember back to our first loves and share anything about them, anything you may have learned...
I'll start...
My first love was a boy named Sean McGinty...I fell deeply in love with him when I was in high school and he was it for me!
I remember we use to drive around in his VW Bus and go eat hamburgers at In-N-Out and hang out all summer at Newport beach...he was my first love, I wonder what ever happened to him???
I also remember "loving" a boy named John in the 4th grade...he use to pull my hair and make me cry, but I loved him! That is a vague, but pleasant memory...
Anyone else?

My first boyfriend....I was a junior in high school, he was a senior...and an exchange student from Sweden named David. He was staying with the pastor of my church at the time, so I saw him constantly for the entire year he was in the U.S. Wow...that was a long time ago...

My first love was Michelle Blanchfield. She was half Spanish and half Italian. She was really quite beautiful, but very headstrong. We argued constantly!! :D We dated for about a year and a half when i was 15 and 16 years old. I don't have a clue where she is now. I do know she dated my cousin for a few years after we broke up.

Anyway, that was my first love. My second true love is now also my last!! That is my wife Misty. I love you honey!!

Seeing that we're using names here, I guess I'll risk it and share my first love. My first love was this guy from back home named Nelson (I won't share his last name). We dated for awhile when I was in college. Sure I had my little high school "flings" but I never really fell in love then. That is until I met Nelson. And boy, did the birds ever sing so sweetly, the sun shone brightly, the clouds look so airy and the butterflies in my stomach flitter away like there was no tomorrow! We dated until the end of my sophmore year in college. He broke up with me because he could not see us getting married at all and he did not want to date for the sake of datig. I was heart-broken. I honestly thought he was the one. (Hey, what can I say? I was young and naive!) It took me almost two years to get over him, however when I look back upon that situation, it was the best thing that could have happened for the both of us. I honestly don't think I would have been able to experience all that I've experienced, to be where I am right now, if we did not break up. The whole experience also brought me closer to the Lord. Boy, did I really cling to the Rock at that time! Still do! :pink:

My first love was named Marthe Rica. A beautiful French girl that I met when I lived in the Virginia mountains. We spent two weeks together on a backpacking trip, then she returned to France. We never saw each other again. Though we did write one another several times a year for five years, she slowly faded from my life. She is the reason I learned to speak French and I am still deeply in love with her.

hmmm... this is sad. i don't really have any first loves. well... unless you count way back in kindergarden i liked this guy named paul. lol, my parents still tease me about it. they said i called him "my hero" :o that's embarrassing. i guess you could call that my first infatuation. lol. haven't really "loved" anyone else until i was 14. we had a youth intern at my church that summer. he was 18. a great guy. made me laugh. a godly man studying to be a pastor. never told him how i felt though. still get butterflies and this is four years later. :o never dated. doesn't even know i like/liked him.

These stories are all so sweet, I was reading the post by two feathers and I not so long ago fell deeply in love with an Italian who spoke very little English, it was ok since I speak Italian, but it ended up not working out and I remember crying in bed for 2 days straight...it wasn't until my friends came over and fed me chocolate and dried my tears that I was able to move on, oh that was LOVE! to this day I tend to write the affectionate Italian expressions that he used for me when writing to my friends...have any of you ever gotten a con molto amore (with much love)...Love is a beautiful thing and I would go through all that pain all over again...tis truly better to have loved and lost than never loved at all!

My first love I met over 13 years ago. We aloped barely knowing each other a few weeks, and are still married today. When I saw him I knew we would be together. I loved everything about him, his eyes, his smile, his laugh, his voice. I still love it all. I love you babe! :)

SAME HERE WOW! GOD HAS BLESSED US WONDERFULLY AND AFTER 22 YEARS OF MARRIAGE, I LOVE HIM EVEN MORE BECAUSE OF CHRIST IN OUR LIFE.

I'm still in love with my first love. We've never dated. I fell in love with him New Years 1999/2000. We still have contact, he doesn't live in my home town, but we see each other sometimes on Christian Events, and those are the times that break my heart.
I don't know, if he is going to be the onw, I kind of hope it. But if it is not him, then I know that God has somebody who is better for me.

Love, Julia :o

I consider my husband to be my first love. However, when he came into my life I was deeply deeply deeply infatuated with a different man, a doctor who knew me but had no interest in going out with me. That infatuation had been going on for at least five years . I thank God that He sent my husband to me to show me what true love is :pink:

I met my first love when I was in 9th (or 10th) grade. We were friends (in a distant sort of way) for a while but I always had a crush on her. My Senior year of High School she came to my school and during our Senior Trip, we caught each other's eyes. We started dating after that and dated seriously for about 5 years. The summer after I graduated was the best summer ever. We spent ALMOST every day at the beach.

She went off to college at the end of that Summer (about 500 miles away) and I was crushed. We had some rocky times while she was away but we stuck it out. She came back after a year (because money was tight - not to mention she missed me terribly :D) and we continued our relationship...

I was young and VERY immature (my wife would argue the "was") and decided I needed to date other people for while...That was the end of that. I came to my senses a little too late - she had started dating someone else who she is now married to.

That led me to my wife of 7 years. We met at a Christian singles retreat (my FIRST ever... ) and have been together ever since! God definitely put us together...She's motivated me to go farther than I ever could (would) have without her. We have a beautiful (fiery :D) three-year-old daughter and another daughter on the way! :D :D
